Position Overview:

As a Community Integration Specialist, you will play a crucial role in welcoming and supporting newcomers to Nova Scotia. Your efforts will involve collaborating with local businesses, promoting awareness of immigration initiatives, and facilitating valuable connections for newcomers in the community. You will also manage and implement Settlement programs to ensure the successful integration and retention of immigrants.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough research and analysis, partnering with local and international stakeholders.
  • Offer expert guidance on various immigration programs to clients and community members.
  • Engage with businesses and community representatives regarding immigration issues.
  • Oversee funding agreements and grants with service providers and community organizations.
  • Work alongside service providers to identify service gaps and coordinate financial support.
  • Assist in the planning, negotiation, and oversight of contracts and sponsorship agreements.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess a degree in communications, business, marketing, or public administration, along with a minimum of three years of relevant experience. Strong interviewing skills, familiarity with government departments related to citizenship and immigration, and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite are essential. Experience with LaMPSS and financial management of funding agreements will be considered an asset.
