The Centre de services scolaire de Sorel-Tracy is seeking a dedicated professional to take on the role of Library Services Coordinator. In this capacity, you will oversee the development, assessment, organization, and management of library collections, ensuring that resources are readily available for both students and staff. Your expertise will be crucial in fostering an environment that encourages the use of library resources within educational initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the growth of information collections across diverse formats;
  • Assist in formulating policies and executing a strategic development plan;
  • Assess collections in alignment with educational objectives and programs;
  • Identify needs, select materials, and recommend acquisitions;
  • Collaborate with educators to weave resources into the curriculum and organize reading promotion events;
  • Provide expert guidance on resource utilization and procurement;
  • Plan interdisciplinary initiatives with various stakeholders;
  • Foster an educational atmosphere that enhances student learning and personal growth;
  • Advise teaching staff on information research to aid students;
  • Encourage the use of digital resources and assist users in their application;
  • Conduct training sessions for library users and staff;
  • Design and facilitate workshops focused on reading and information research;
  • Create promotional materials and tools to enhance resource usage;
  • Contribute to the library's physical layout, ensuring compliance with standards;
  • Manage document processing and uphold classification, cataloging, indexing, and weeding in accordance with library protocols.

Required Qualifications:

A Master's degree in Information Science or Library Science is essential.

Additional Information:

Position Status: Full-time permanent

Immediate Supervisor: Director of Educational Services

Working Hours: Monday to Friday

Annual Salary: Minimum: $53,054 Maximum: $90,950
