Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Placement Broker, Commercial to join our team. As a key member of our commercial insurance team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing marketing strategies to attract new business and grow our existing client base.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement marketing strategies to attract new business and grow our existing client base
  • Negotiate terms with insurance carriers to secure new business and renewals
  • Coordinate and plan marketing initiatives for our clients
  • Review and analyze policy wordings to ensure proper coverages are in place
  • Monitor the insurance marketplace and maintain a current database of changing company appetites
  • Act as the senior client contact when the producer is unavailable
  • Provide alternate carrier options as needed
  • Ensure there are no gaps in coverage for our clients
  • Prepare a summary of losses paid by insurers vs. premiums paid by the insured to assist in negotiating terms
  • Bind coverage, prepare documentation, certificates of insurance, mid-term changes, etc. in a timely fashion
  • Mentor junior staff
Requirements
  • Level 2 General Insurance License
  • Post-Secondary education or equivalent work experience
  • 10+ years of Commercial Lines insurance experience
  • Minimum 5 years of Commercial Placement Broking/Marketing experience
  • Strong technical knowledge and experience working with and interpreting insurance policies
  • Detail oriented with a high level of accuracy
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work in a team-based environment
  • Be able to prioritize and work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with changing priorities
  • Working knowledge of EPIC and PolicyWorks
  • Those who are working towards or possess the CAIB, CIP, FCIP or CRM designations are preferred
