The Patient Watch Guard is tasked with ensuring the safety and security of patients in the absence of medical staff, such as nurses.
This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy direct patient interaction or those aspiring to build a career in the security sector.
This is a full-time on-call position operating on a 7 on 7 off schedule, with a requirement to work overnight shifts.
Core Duties:
- Engage in verbal redirection only, with no physical intervention.
- Provide 1:1 monitoring for low-risk patients who may face challenges due to confusion, mental health issues, wandering tendencies, or fall risks.
- Respond to on-demand requests, necessitating travel between various sites.
- Exhibit strong communication skills.
- No prior experience is necessary.
- Maintain a calm and composed demeanor.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Ability to remain calm and effective during emergencies.
- Proficient in managing challenges and communicating across diverse social levels.
- Capable of identifying issues and relaying information to the appropriate personnel.
- Physically able to walk and stand for extended periods.
- Ability to make prompt decisions while maintaining composure in emergency situations with minimal oversight.
- Strong interpersonal skills, adaptability, and a customer service mindset.
- Competent in handling sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
- Present a professional demeanor to the public.
- Adhere to our Code of Ethics in fulfilling job responsibilities.
Minimum Job Requirements:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Ability to pass a criminal background check.
- A valid driver's license.
- Current First Aid certification.
- Willingness to work on-call and travel as required.
- Flexibility to drive consistently throughout shifts and relocate as necessary.
- Familiarity with or willingness to learn security protocols and non-defensive communication strategies in high-pressure situations.
High School Diploma or GED
Certification Requirements
Valid driver's license
Standard First Aid and CPR Level C certification
