We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Correctional Officer to join our team at the Ontario Public Service. As a Correctional Officer, you will play a critical role in maintaining the safety and security of our correctional facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Education and Training: You will be required to have a secondary (high) school graduation certificate and be willing to undergo training.
  • Work Experience: You will have the opportunity to gain valuable experience in a fast-paced environment, working under pressure and in a physically demanding role.
  • Certifications and Licenses: You will be required to hold a First Aid Certificate and a CPR Certificate.
  • Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: You will be working in a combination of sitting, standing, and walking environments, and will be required to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Personal Suitability: You will be expected to demonstrate dependability, efficient interpersonal skills, excellent oral and written communication skills, judgement, reliability, and a strong sense of values and ethics.
  • Work Term and Language: This is a temporary position, and you will be required to work in either English or French.
  • Hours of Work: You will be required to work a variable number of hours per week, up to 40 hours.
