Job Summary:
The Registered Dietitian is a critical role within our organization, impacting the lives of residents and igniting the warmth of human connection. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will play a vital role in planning, organizing, directing, and evaluating residents' nutritional care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement nutrition care plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team, ensuring residents receive optimal nutrition and hydration.
- Conduct comprehensive assessments and reassessments to identify residents' nutritional needs and develop targeted interventions.
- Create therapeutic menus for special diets, including those for residents with specific health conditions.
- Identify and mitigate nutrition-related risks, ensuring residents receive safe and effective care.
- Provide education and counseling to residents, caregivers, and family members on optimal nutrition and hydration practices.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement policies and procedures related to nutrition care.
Requirements:
- Master's degree in Food and Nutrition from an accredited university program.
- Member of the College of Dietitians of Ontario.
- Knowledge of Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care dietary and nutrition regulations.
- Experience with nutrition care planning and implementation in a long-term care setting.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of an interdisciplinary team.
