This position is primarily office-based, with necessary site visits to various locations.

The Facilities Planner will oversee the planning and scheduling of various phases of engineering, procurement, and construction, specifically within the Energy, Mining, and Infrastructure sectors.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing guidance to junior and intermediate planners.
  • Collaborating on the Hatch Bantrel Joint Venture (HBJV) for the execution of engineering and construction projects.
  • Engaging directly with engineers, procurement specialists, construction supervisors, and management during project planning and execution.
  • Interfacing with the Client Project Management team to deliver effective planning and scheduling solutions.
  • Preparing resource-loaded baseline schedules and schedule basis documents that outline execution strategies and assumptions.
  • Updating and maintaining project schedules, monitoring progress and performance.
  • Conducting independent analyses and developing workarounds to address schedule delays.
  • Working alongside project controls teams to align schedules with cost estimates and earned value progress systems.
  • Reviewing potential changes against project scope and execution plans, providing insights on schedule impacts.
  • Overseeing junior and intermediate schedulers, particularly in relation to construction interfaces.
  • Supporting the management of construction-to-commissioning and commissioning-to-operations transitions.

Qualifications include:

  • An Engineering or Business degree and/or relevant qualifications in Planning, Scheduling, Project Controls, or Project Management.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in Planning and Scheduling.
  • Relevant experience in cost control and monitoring.
  • Experience in the Canadian oil, gas, petrochemicals, and mining and infrastructure sectors, preferably with Engineering or EPC consultants.
  • Advanced proficiency in Oracle Primavera P6.
