As a Power Systems Consultant at AspenTech, you will be part of a dynamic team that drives innovation and excellence in the energy sector. Your primary responsibility will be to deliver high-quality systems to our customers, ensuring their efficient operation and compliance with contract requirements.
Key Responsibilities- Design, build, configure, troubleshoot, and test the deployment of our systems, working closely with customers throughout the project lifecycle.
- Extract, translate, and load the utility's electrical distribution network model into the business' ADMS, providing a primary point of contact for ADMS Implementation work.
- Collaborate with functional teams, including ADMS Application Consultants, Architecture & Product Solution teams, and Software Development organization, to ensure seamless project execution.
- Implement control systems at electric utilities, improving their efficiency to operate the modern grid while meeting contract requirements and specifications.
- Design and configure system architectures for DMS/OMS, including server setup, domains, environments, products, and application processes.
- Set up and configure databases, including MongoDB and SQL, and design external interfaces for data flow.
- Install, maintain, and test DMS/OMS applications on different environments, performing upgrades and patches as needed.
- Review system design documents, provide feedback to customers and teams, and run tests to ensure applications are running as required.
- Work closely with OSI development teams to troubleshoot, prioritize, and test product changes, and train customers on system operation.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with specializations in Power Systems or Computer Science, or equivalent knowledge gained through work experience.
- 3-5 years' experience in the Utility Power Industry or equivalent.
- Basic command line and computer navigation skills, including Windows and Red Hat.
- Experience troubleshooting complex systems and software applications, and knowledge of system designs, computer systems, engineering practices, and control systems.
- GIS maintenance, administration, and data entry experience, as well as database and data structure knowledge.
- Strong communication skills, both verbally and written, and proven ability to organize and prioritize work within tight timelines.
- Willingness to travel (25% average) and programming/scripting experience (C#/Python/HTML preferred).
