Job Summary:

Taylor Corporation is seeking a skilled Slitter Equipment Operator to join our team in Stratford, ON (Canada) facility. As a key member of our International Graphics, ULC team, you will be responsible for setting up and operating the slitter machine, loading and unloading rolls of printed material, and maintaining accurate production records.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set up and operate the slitter machine according to job specifications, ensuring high-quality output and efficient production.
  • Load and unload rolls of printed material safely and efficiently, adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
  • Inspect materials for defects and ensure proper alignment during slitting, maintaining a high level of attention to detail.
  • Monitor the slitting process and make adjustments as needed to maintain quality, utilizing your analytical skills to identify potential issues.
  • Maintain accurate production records, tracking progress and identifying areas for improvement.
  • Keep the slitter machine clean and well-maintained, performing routine maintenance tasks to ensure optimal performance.
  • Follow all safety procedures and regulations, prioritizing a safe working environment.

Requirements:

  • Ability to set adjustable mechanisms to required tolerances, demonstrating strong mechanical ability.
  • High degree of math skills and attention to detail, ensuring accurate production records.
  • High degree of mechanical ability, with the ability to work with very close tolerances.
  • Good reading ability, with the ability to effectively communicate with team members.
  • Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information and ideas so others will understand, promoting a collaborative work environment.
  • Regularly move up to 25+ pounds (lift, push, pull and/or carry), demonstrating physical stamina.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or the equivalent, demonstrating a strong educational foundation.
  • Ability to work with very close tolerances, showcasing precision and attention to detail.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with team members, promoting a positive and productive work environment.
  • High degree of analytical skills, with the ability to identify potential issues and implement solutions.
  • Good color discernment, with the ability to accurately inspect materials for defects.
