Position Overview

The role of a Metal Fabrication Assistant involves supporting skilled tradespeople in the manufacturing and assembly of metal components. This position is crucial for ensuring efficiency and quality in the production process.

Key Responsibilities
  • Education: No formal degree, certificate, or diploma required.
  • Experience: Previous experience is considered an asset.
  • Assist skilled workers: Provide support to structural steel and platework fitters, sheet metal workers, and metal machine operators.
  • Material Handling: Sort and organize metal sheets, parts, scrap metal, and other materials effectively.
  • Metal Finishing: Grind or chip excess metal from products using hand tools to achieve desired specifications.
  • Work Area Maintenance: Ensure cleanliness of machines and immediate work areas to promote safety and efficiency.
  • Logistics Support: Load and unload vehicles as required for the production process.
  • Product Polishing: Polish metal products to a mirror finish, ensuring high-quality output.
  • Work Order Interpretation: Read and interpret work orders to understand project requirements.
