About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Power System Engineer to join our HVDC team at Hitachi Energy Canada Inc. in Montreal. As a key member of our Main Circuit Design department, you will be responsible for the initial definition of electrical specifications for main circuit equipment in HVDC Converter stations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain electrical specifications for main circuit equipment in HVDC Converter stations.
  • Provide technical support for tenders and project execution, including initial studies, single line drawings, and basic calculations.
  • Interpret customer specifications and translate them into drawings and requirements for other engineering teams.
  • Attend project meetings and present specific aspects of engineering assignments.
  • Maintain a network of engineering professionals and share best practices across different projects and disciplines.

Requirements

  • Professional Engineering degree in Electric Power Engineering or similar.
  • 2+ years of experience with design and specifications of high voltage equipment.
  • Ability to make complex concepts simple and show creativity in problem-solving.
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken, is required. French speaking is an asset.
