The Shop Technician position at SunSource is a critical role that requires a high level of technical expertise and attention to detail. As a Shop Technician, you will be responsible for the repair and maintenance of machinery and equipment, ensuring that our operations run smoothly and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities- Repair and maintain machinery and equipment, including developing repair plans and sequences, determining necessary parts and materials, and performing repairs safely and efficiently.
- Generate and maintain accurate reports, including parts ordering, special tooling usage, and work order closure.
- Use and understand proper test equipment, blueprints, technical data, and service manuals to troubleshoot repairs.
- Retrieve and return parts and materials through our parts ordering system.
- Operate a lathe or mill to fabricate metal or plastic parts, and perform disassembly, cleaning, inspection, measuring, reassembly, and testing of valves.
- Adhere to all site safety and performance requirements, and communicate timely updates to management and coworkers.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; training or certification in a related technical area preferred.
- Previous experience working with power tools, saws, machine equipment, tube benders, and calipers.
- Excellent communication skills and customer relationship traits.
- Computer proficiency and ability to lift 50lbs.
