About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Bakery Specialist to join our team at Sotiris Restaurant Inc. as a Pastry Chef. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing and baking a variety of sweet and savory pastries, bread, and other baked goods.

Key Responsibilities
  • Preparation and Baking: Prepare dough for pies, bread, rolls, and sweet goods, batters for muffins, cookies, and cakes, and icings and frostings according to recipes or special customer orders.
  • Special Orders: Prepare pastry for special occasions, such as weddings and birthdays, and ensure that the quality of products meets established standards.
  • Inventory Management: Requisition or order materials, equipment, and supplies as needed.
  • Quality Control: Inspect kitchen and food service areas to ensure cleanliness and organization.
  • Customer Service: Prepare dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances.
Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Experience: 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in a bakery or pastry kitchen.
  • Work Setting: Restaurant environment with a fast-paced atmosphere.
  • Physical Capabilities: Ability to stand for extended periods, manual dexterity, and attention to detail.
  • Personal Suitability: Accurate, client-focused, dependable, and a team player.
