Senior Android Architect

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Android Architect to join our team at Randstad Canada. As a key member of our technology team, you will be responsible for designing and architecting advanced applications for the Android platform.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.
  • Lead the technical implementation of projects, ensuring high quality and adherence to best practices.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior developers.
  • Conduct code reviews and ensure code quality and performance.
  • Optimize applications for performance, scalability, and maintainability.
  • Stay updated with the latest trends and best practices in Android development.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of professional experience in Android development with a proven track record of delivering successful consumer-facing applications.
  • Expert knowledge of Java and Kotlin.
  • Strong understanding of Android architecture components like MVVM, LiveData, Room, etc.
  • Experience with RESTful APIs and JSON to connect Android applications to back-end services.
  • Proficient in using development tools such as Android Studio, Gradle, etc.
  • Solid understanding of Android UI design principles, patterns, and best practices.
  • Technical skills: experience with offline storage, threading, and performance tuning.
  • Experience with hybrid frameworks like React Native or Flutter.
  • CI/CD: familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing frameworks.
  • Community involvement: contributions to open-source projects or active participation in the Android community.
