Job Title: Program Coordinator

Voices Manitobas Youth in Care Network is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Program Coordinator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and facilitating programs, events, and retreats for youth and community engagement.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Organize and facilitate workshops to raise awareness of the challenges youth-in-care face and promote discussion on how to create a better system of care in Manitoba.
  • Develop and facilitate the Youth Leadership program, providing support and guidance to youth participants.
  • Take the lead in planning and coordinating youth and community engagement events and retreats, ensuring a safe and inclusive environment for all participants.
  • Document, evaluate, and report on programs and events, providing recommendations for improvement.
  • Manage program and event budgets, purchasing, and financial records, ensuring accurate and transparent financial management.
  • Collaborate with community organizations, schools, caregivers, and service providers to advocate for and develop resources and supports for young people.
  • Network and promote Voices youth programs and events, building relationships with stakeholders and partners.
  • Supervise and lead summer staff, adult and youth volunteers, and students, providing guidance and support to ensure successful program delivery.
Qualifications and Competencies:
  • Post-secondary education in Recreation Management, Project Management, Social Work, Community Development, Child and Youth Care, or other relevant fields.
  • Strong knowledge of Manitoba's Child Welfare System and experience working with youth-in-care.
  • 3+ years' experience planning and delivering youth programming, with a focus on community engagement and development.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with youth and stakeholders.
  • Proficient in Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Teams, Sharepoint, Word, Excel) and experience with program budgeting and financial management.
  • Valid Class 5F Manitoba Driver's License and access to a reliable vehicle.
