About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Shift Manager to join our team at Fresh Slice Pizza. As a Shift Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our restaurant, ensuring that our customers receive exceptional service and that our food meets the highest standards of quality.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Supervision
    • Supervise and coordinate the activities of our kitchen staff, ensuring that they are working efficiently and effectively to meet the demands of our customers.
    • Train and develop our staff, providing guidance and support to help them improve their skills and performance.
  • Food Quality and Safety
    • Ensure that our food is prepared and presented to the highest standards of quality, safety, and hygiene.
    • Monitor and maintain the cleanliness and organization of our kitchen and dining areas.
  • Customer Service
    • Provide exceptional customer service, responding to customer complaints and concerns in a professional and courteous manner.
    • Ensure that our customers receive a positive and memorable dining experience.
  • Inventory and Supplies
    • Manage our inventory and supplies, ensuring that we have sufficient stock to meet customer demand.
    • Monitor and control our expenses, ensuring that we are operating within our budget.
  • Health and Safety
    • Ensure that our restaurant is compliant with all health and safety regulations, including food safety and hygiene standards.
    • Monitor and report any health and safety incidents or concerns.
  • Support for Newcomers and Refugees
    • Participate in a government or community program or initiative that supports newcomers and/or refugees.
    • Assist with immediate settlement needs of newcomers and/or refugees, such as housing, transportation, and storage.
  • Support for Youths
    • Participate in a government or community program or initiative that supports youth employment.
    • Offer on-the-job training tailored to youth, providing them with the skills and knowledge they need to succeed in the workforce.
  • Support for Indigenous People
    • Participate in a government or community program or initiative that supports Indigenous people.
    • Provide cultural competency training and awareness training to all employees, creating a welcoming work environment for Indigenous workers.
    Requirements
    • Education
      • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
    • Experience
      • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a food service or restaurant management role.
    • Language
      • Fluent in English.
    • Work Hours
      • 30 to 36 hours per week.
