Position Overview

The Director of Credit Stress Testing Analytics will spearhead a team of quantitative and technical specialists dedicated to the creation and execution of sophisticated credit analytical instruments, facilitating the operational processes necessary for the execution of RBC's stress testing initiatives.

This role presents a unique opportunity to engage in significant strategic projects aimed at transforming RBC's risk management methodologies, ensuring the organization remains responsive to the ever-evolving landscape of regulatory requirements. The incumbent will oversee the analytics and reporting of credit-related stress testing forecasts across the organization, supporting various internal and regulatory stress testing frameworks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a team responsible for developing, documenting, and executing reporting and analytical systems that underpin stress testing regulatory submissions and ongoing results.
  • Continuously refine and implement advanced analytical tools, including loss aggregation systems and forecasting methodologies, to support stress testing and provisioning efforts.
  • Guide the team to ensure that stress testing methodologies align with regulatory developments and business needs.
  • Deliver quantitative stress testing insights clearly and accurately to business and risk stakeholders, senior management, and regulatory bodies.
  • Lead data analysis initiatives with meticulous attention to detail, ensuring robust controls are in place to preemptively identify potential discrepancies.
  • Foster collaboration with business units, model development teams, internal audit, and external regulatory reviews concerning credit risk models.
  • Enhance organizational awareness and partnerships, leveraging best practices and effectively communicating the value of the team's models across RBC.

Qualifications

Essential Requirements

  • Over 10 years of experience in credit analytics within the financial sector, with comprehensive knowledge of ACL/PCL and credit risk-weighted assets.
  • Expertise in Predictive Modelling and Statistical Programming, with proficiency in SAS, SQL, and Python.
  • Understanding of Retail and Wholesale banking products, focusing on their structure, macroeconomic drivers, and evolution within the banking portfolio.
  • Familiarity with regulatory stress testing frameworks, including EWST, MST, and CCAR.
  • Exceptional communication skills, capable of presenting complex solutions to diverse audiences with varying levels of technical knowledge.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Master's Degree in a quantitative field such as Finance, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or Engineering.
