Job Overview

Reports to: General Foreman, Field Service

Shift: 7x7

Location: Sparwood, BC

Relocation: This position does not offer relocation

Key Job Responsibilities
  • Perform high-quality welding on mining equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety
  • Conduct regular maintenance, repair, and inspection of mining equipment to prevent downtime and ensure compliance with company standards
  • Utilize proficiency in GMAW, FCAW, SMAW, and all sizes of weld wire to complete tasks efficiently
  • Maintain company quality standards by adhering to established procedures and protocols
  • Read and interpret blueprints to understand equipment specifications and requirements
  • Operate oxy/fuel cutting equipment and electric welding machines with precision and accuracy
  • Ensure a clean, orderly, and safe work environment by adhering to company safety protocols
  • Prioritize the safety of yourself and coworkers by following established safety procedures
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management to support the team and achieve company goals
Qualifications/Requirements
  • Journeyperson Welder certification, including Red Seal, or 3rd or 4th year Apprentice with equivalent experience
  • Previous experience working with P&H and Joy products is an asset
  • Must have no restrictions for access to any mine site
  • NDT or CWB certification or experience is an asset
  • Heat treatment experience and history of welding with 1/16 wire are assets
  • Valid Driver's License with no restrictions
  • Experience in a customer-facing role and a strong understanding of customer relationships
  • Good organizational and planning skills
  • Strong standard for quality and safety
  • Able to travel and work in remote locations
  • Must be able to work with minimal supervision but also participate in the work of other mechanics and apprentices within the field environment
