Shift: Monday to Friday (5x2), 8 hours/day
Location: Sparwood, BC
Relocation: This position does not offer relocation

The Quality Assurance Technician will be responsible for ensuring that all standards, processes, specifications, codes, and regulations are met for overall customer satisfaction. This involves performing or assisting in quality control and inspection work, as well as coordinating and maintaining the Komatsu Canada Quality Control program and manuals.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Coordinate and maintain the Komatsu Canada Quality Control program and manuals.
  2. Conduct inspections of individual scope of work in progress and at completion to resolve repetitive rework and determine root cause.
  3. Perform UT and Mag Particle inspections of rebuild components, including professional reporting of the findings.
  4. Develop and perform audits for machine and component rebuilds.
  5. Responsible for quality control inspection for machine overhauls, including labeling, inspecting, and final reporting.
  6. Coordinate, compile, and file all documents from the various projects and ensure that all requirements of the Quality Control program are completed in a timely manner.
  7. Coordinate document and quality control to ensure quality assurance goals are maintained.
  8. Assist in determining processes and process improvement.
  9. Execute the inspection and signoff of projects and worksheets.
  10. Document processes to ensure overall project consistency.
  11. Maintain relationships with third-party inspectors.
  12. Control all welder records and logs and verify welding is completed as per approved procedures.
  13. Provide quality control updates at production meetings as required.
  14. Comply with standards and procedures of the Komatsu Health and Safety manual and Occupational Health and Safety regulations.
Qualifications/Requirements
  1. Journeyman Trade certificate or equivalent experience with practical knowledge of supervising welding/fitting operations.
  2. Knowledge of NDT methods.
  3. Able to interpret engineering specifications.
  4. Ability to provide accuracy and detail in projects and reports.
  5. Intermediate computer skills, specifically with MS Office.
  6. SAP knowledge is considered an asset.
  7. Able to work effectively with team members and yet be independent and self-reliant when completing tasks.
  8. Able to work in a multi-disciplinary environment.
  9. Demonstrates initiative and is a proactive problem solver.
  10. Able to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with others.
  11. Demonstrates efficient organizational skills and the ability to thrive well in a deadline-oriented environment.
  12. Able to prioritize and execute multiple tasks quickly.
  13. A valid driver's license is required.
