Job Title: Truck Driver

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Truck Driver to join our team at ABC Freightlines Inc. in Brampton, Ontario. As a key member of our transportation team, you will be responsible for safely transporting goods and materials across Canada.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will have a valid driver's license with AZ and an acceptable driving record. You will be required to operate a tractor-trailer and transport goods and materials to various locations across Canada. You will also be responsible for performing pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections to ensure fleet standards are met.

Responsibilities:
  • Operate and drive a tractor-trailer to transport goods and materials
  • Perform pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections to ensure fleet standards are met
  • Record driving and freight information, hours of service, distance traveled on electronic logbook
  • Follow guidelines for food load distribution, food handling, and safety
  • Receive and relay information to dispatch
  • Ensure load is always secure
  • Report any discrepancies or delivery delays
  • Perform fleet preventative maintenance
  • Complete all paperwork accurately and submit daily paperwork to head office
Requirements:
  • Valid driver's license with AZ and acceptable driving record
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Good oral and written communication skills in English
  • Ability to troubleshoot and make minor repairs to equipment and vehicle at job sites
  • Knowledge of main highways of Ontario and geographical knowledge of other provinces
  • Ability to drive long hours and long distances
  • Knowledge of truck driving rules and regulations
What We Offer:
  • $27.50 per hour
  • $41.25 per hour after 44 hours per week
  • 10 paid days or vacation pay 4% of gross pay
  • Job Protected Unpaid Leave: 10 days for personal emergencies
