What We Offer:
The Greater Toronto Urban (GTU) division is pivotal to Mattamy Homes Canada’s growth strategy. In just a few years, GTU has established a robust multi-residential portfolio and a promising development pipeline that will introduce thousands of new mid and high-rise condominium suites across the Greater Toronto Area.
The Vice President, Product Design, is a visionary leader with a strong focus on process and team performance. This role is crucial in the strategic planning and execution of Mattamy communities, ensuring that our product offerings evolve to meet the changing needs of homebuyers. You will engage in acquisition assessments, oversee the pre-community design phase, collaborate with community teams during pre-construction, and manage the selection and sale of upgrades through the Design Studio.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the product design aspect of community visioning, establishing essential design parameters and amenity requirements.
- Collaborate with internal teams to document project design specifications and product tiers.
- Support the selection of design consultants and communicate product standards for project specifications.
- Guide high-performing teams, providing mentorship and performance evaluations.
- Develop standardized project specifications aligned with corporate branding and market needs.
- Promote sustainability and innovation within community projects, integrating new features into the overall product design.
- Evaluate constructability and compatibility of upgrade options with internal teams.
- Work closely with the Director of Design Studio to forecast revenue for community proformas.
- Assess upgrade programs in relation to ongoing product development.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary project teams for market research with development, sales, and marketing.
- Stay informed on political, regulatory, and market trends affecting the industry.
- Foster a culture of service, safety, inclusion, and respect among employees and stakeholders.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Design/Architecture, Business, Engineering, or Construction Management.
- Over 10 years of progressive experience in managing complex projects, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Experience in a related industry, including architectural firms, developer-builders, or public agencies.
- Proven leadership capabilities at the senior management level within mid-sized to large organizations.
- Demonstrated success in executing long-term and complex projects with multiple stakeholders.
- Extensive experience collaborating with consultants, architects, planners, and regulatory authorities.
- Technologically adept with experience in ERP systems, alongside strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Exemplary communication and interpersonal skills, demonstrating confidence and integrity.
- Innovative mindset with an entrepreneurial spirit, attuned to market trends and customer preferences.
Bonus Points:
- MBA or equivalent advanced degree.
- Familiarity with building codes, drawings, and site specifications.
