Bantrel Co. is looking for a skilled Regional Planning Specialist to become a part of our dynamic team. This position will primarily focus on planning and scheduling various stages of engineering, procurement, and construction projects, particularly within the Energy, Mining, and Infrastructure sectors. The role will involve oversight of junior and intermediate planners, contributing to significant projects such as the BHP Jansen Potash Mine Project.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate closely with engineers, procurement experts, construction supervisors, and management during both the planning and execution phases of projects.
- Engage with the Client Project Management team to provide effective solutions related to planning and scheduling.
- Develop Resource-loaded Baseline Schedules and Schedule Basis documents that outline execution strategies and assumptions.
- Regularly update and maintain project schedules, ensuring alignment with progress and performance metrics.
- Conduct independent analyses and devise workarounds to address potential schedule delays.
- Coordinate with project controls teams, including cost analysts and estimators, to synchronize schedules with estimates and earned value progress systems.
- Evaluate potential changes against project scope and execution plans, providing insights on schedule impacts.
- Supervise junior and intermediate schedulers, particularly regarding construction interfaces.
- Support the management of transitions from construction to commissioning and from commissioning to operations.
- Collaborate with the team on Integrated Level 4/Level 5 schedules from Construction to Pre-commissioning.
- Oversee schedule interfaces among engineering, procurement, and construction teams.
Qualifications:
- A degree in Engineering or Business, or a relevant qualification in Planning/Scheduling, Project Controls, or Project Management.
- At least 10 years of experience in Planning and Scheduling.
- A minimum of 4 years of experience in developing construction schedules.
- Experience in cost control and monitoring.
- Work experience in the Canadian oil, gas, petrochemicals, and mining & infrastructure sectors, preferably with Engineering or EPC Consultants.
- Strong understanding of CPM scheduling concepts.
- Advanced proficiency in Oracle Primavera P6.
- Excellent interpersonal, teamwork, and communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Proven ability to identify, analyze, and resolve problems effectively.
