We are seeking a skilled Valve Technician to join our team at SunSource. As a Valve Technician, you will be responsible for performing maintenance, assessment, repair, and testing on various types of industrial valves.
Key Responsibilities:- Repair and test various valves, including ball valves, gate valves, butterfly valves, and safety relief valves.
- Perform disassembly, cleaning, inspection, measuring, reassembly, and testing of valves at our facilities.
- Complete all calibration and documentation associated with testing and repairs.
- Fabricate hose assemblies per supplier's specification, including setup and calibration of equipment, cleaning, inspection, measuring, and testing.
- Adhere to all site safety and performance requirements.
- Communicate timely updates to management and coworkers to ensure timely and successful completion of job responsibilities.
- Work closely with coworkers, management, and safety coordinator to ensure compliance with OSHA and other safety regulations.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- No experience necessary; we will provide training.
- Familiarity with tools and machinery required to perform daily valve repair and hose assembly duties is an asset.
- Experience with repairing various valves and actuators, whether pneumatic, hydraulic, or electric, is an asset.
- Valid Driver's License.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Frequent exposure to fumes or airborne particles.
- Frequent exposure to loud noises.
- Continually required to stand, walk, bend, crouch, and climb.
- Continually required to use hands and fingers and reach with arms.
- Frequently required to lift up to 50 lbs.
