Job Summary:

The Concrete Mason will be responsible for the direct placement of concrete into forms or onto surfaces according to grade, filling hollows and removing spots on freshly poured cement, operating power vibrators to compact concrete, and performing other tasks related to concrete construction.

Responsibilities:
  • Direct placement of concrete into forms or onto surfaces according to grade
  • Filling hollows and removing spots on freshly poured cement
  • Operating power vibrators to compact concrete
  • Waterproof, damp proof and restore surfaces
  • Repair, resurface and replace worn or damaged sections of concrete structures
  • Estimate costs and materials
  • Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings and specifications
Requirements:
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • 1 to less than 7 months of experience
  • Physically demanding
  • Bending, crouching, kneeling
  • Criminal record check
  • Steel-toed safety boots
  • Hard hat
  • Safety glasses/goggles
Work Environment:

The Concrete Mason will work in a dusty and wet/damp environment, with a 30-hour workweek.

Language:

The primary language of work is English.
