Job Overview:

The Manager, Risk Management reports to the Sr. Director, Treasury and is responsible for overseeing the company's corporate insurance program, including risk assessment, mitigation, and management. The successful candidate will possess strong analytical and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with third-party administrators, senior legal counsel, and insurance brokers to manage claims and insurance programs.
  • Develop and implement effective risk management strategies to minimize claims costs and optimize insurance coverage.
  • Analyze claims data and actuarial models to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
  • Manage the insurance program renewal process, including negotiations with third-party insurance brokers and underwriters.
  • Assess the company's risk retention strategy and recommend changes to optimize premium costs and coverage.
  • Work with Accounting to review hedging activity and ensure adequate documentation and implementation.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance or Economics, or CFA preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs, including Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Experience in an insurance-related position is preferred, with US and Canadian experience a plus.
