About the Role:
Masefield Grazing Ltd. is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Ranch Manager to oversee the daily operations of our grazing land and livestock. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the health and well-being of our cattle and the efficient management of our pastures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate records of cattle and bull battery grazing, as well as cattle numbers in/out, as required by regulatory bodies.
- Monitor herd health, identify and treat sick cattle, and maintain accurate health records.
- Continuously monitor grass and water conditions and move cattle as needed to ensure optimal grazing practices.
- Repair and maintain fences, corrals, headquarters yard, and buildings, as well as tractor and equipment.
- Distribute salt and mineral to cattle as required.
Requirements:
- Deep knowledge of cattle and grassland management.
- Experience as a working cowboy or ranch hand.
- Ability to work independently and provide instruction and support to a full-time seasonal employee.
- Valid driver's license and ability to operate a truck and stock trailer.
- Supervisory skills and ability to manage a team.
