Position Overview: Nurse Practitioner - Chronic Kidney Disease Program

Work Environment: Satellite Facility

Job Type: Permanent Full-Time

The Nurse Practitioner operates with an enhanced scope of practice that includes diagnosing conditions, prescribing medications, and ordering necessary diagnostic evaluations. This role encompasses advanced nursing responsibilities and medical directives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Effectively managing a diverse workload in a dynamic healthcare setting
  • Addressing challenges in a professional and respectful manner
  • Implementing best practice protocols
  • Fostering a safe and inclusive atmosphere by adhering to safety regulations

Qualifications:

  • Registered with the College of Nurses of Ontario as an Extended Class RN
  • National certification in Nephrology Nursing
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support certification
  • Demonstrated clinical experience with a focus on patient-centered care

Preferred Skills:

  • Understanding of adult education principles and health promotion strategies
  • Leadership capabilities in clinical excellence
  • Strong patient counseling abilities
  • Capacity to work autonomously as well as collaboratively within a team
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills

Desirable Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience in Nephrology
  • Membership in the Nurse Practitioner Association of Ontario
  • In-depth knowledge of nephrology best practices
  • Experience in Case Management
  • Interest in hemodialysis settings
