Job Title: Plumbing and Heating Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Plumbing and Heating Specialist to join our team at Bartle & Gibson. As a key member of our sales team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service and support to our customers, contractors, and distributors.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Proactively identify opportunities to quote plumbing and heating equipment for residential, commercial, and small industrial projects
  • Respond to customer inquiries related to plumbing and heating quotes and/or redirect the customer to the appropriate department
  • Communicate project details, obtain, and review material quotes from vendors
  • Prepare and provide quotes for new and existing customers, contractors, and sales managers
  • Quote recommended equivalent/alternate products based on cost, availability, and/or specifications
  • Provide accurate information regarding the availability of in-stock items
  • Liaise between suppliers' reps and customers for all inquiries, lead, and delivery times, to meet tender deadlines
  • Provide clarification on engineering specifications sheets, plans, contractor takeoffs, and addendums
  • Coordinate with other departments, particularly electrical, for business opportunities
  • Maintain project documents both physical and electronic versions
  • Entering projects and details in shared networks and Google networks
  • Accurately process customer transactions such as orders, quotes, or returns
  • Review the quotes for errors or missed items
  • Determine customer requirements and expectations to recommend specific products and solutions
  • Stay current with up-to-date product knowledge of all plumbing and heating equipment
  • Educate customers about terminology, features, and benefits of products to improve product-related sales and customer satisfaction
  • Identify trends in customer satisfaction or dissatisfaction
  • Create PDF files of specification sheets, that are job-specific for project submittals and Owner operation manuals
  • Prioritize projects of importance and/or urgent requests when possible
Requirements:
  • Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum of 2 years sales experience (counter sales, inside sales, or outside sales) required
  • Knowledge of or previous experience in the Plumbing or Heating wholesale industry required
  • Previous experience and/or education in Project Management an asset
  • Basic understanding of reading blueprints an asset
