We are seeking a skilled Cabinetmaker to join our team at Metro Doors & Woodworking. As a Cabinetmaker, you will be responsible for creating high-quality wooden products, including cabinets, furniture, and other woodwork items.
Key Responsibilities- Design and Fabrication: Study plans, specifications, or drawings of articles to be made, and operate CADD and other computer software systems to create detailed designs.
- Woodworking: Trim joints and fit parts and subassemblies together to form complete units, and reinforce joints to ensure stability and durability.
- Finishing: Sand wooden surfaces and apply veneer, stain, or polish to finished products, and prepare and apply laminated plastics to achieve a high-gloss finish.
- Maintenance and Supervision: Maintain a clean and safe work environment, and supervise other workers to ensure efficient production and quality control.
- Repair and Restoration: Repair or restyle wooden furniture, fixtures, and related products to meet customer specifications.
- Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
- Work Environment: Fast-paced environment with manual dexterity, attention to detail, and ability to stand for extended periods.
- Physical Capabilities: Ability to lift up to 13.5 kg (30 lbs) and work in a physically demanding environment.
- Personal Suitability: Accurate, efficient interpersonal skills, excellent oral and written communication, organized, team player, and punctual.
- Experience: 1 to less than 7 months of experience in a related field.

- Other Benefits: Free parking available and permanent employment with 30 to 35 hours per week.
