Trainee Plumbing Technician

ABOUT THIS CAREER OPPORTUNITY
Black & McDonald is currently in search of a Trainee Plumbing Technician to enhance our Service Division. If you are a hands-on, customer-focused, and technically adept individual looking to establish a strong foundation for your career, this role is ideal for you. The position is based in our Service Division and will report directly to the Service Supervisor.
The ideal candidate will exhibit a robust work ethic, eagerness to learn, a positive attitude, and a genuine enthusiasm for the plumbing trade. Trainee Plumbing Technicians are expected to be proficient in various pipe joining techniques; comfortable using standard industry-specific hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment; and skilled in reading and interpreting technical documents. Daily responsibilities may sometimes involve extended hours and the handling of heavy materials.

Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Under the guidance of the site foreman: transport materials, install water lines, apply fire caulking, thread pipes, and assist with various tasks as needed. Second-year apprentices will independently: thread pipes, install laundry boxes, and with supervision: initiate drainage tasks and assist with other responsibilities. WHIMIS, SCOTT, R&R, Mobile Aerial Platform Training, Fall Protection Training, and Confined Space Training are considered advantageous. Must be a current member of the Saskatchewan Apprenticeship Program or demonstrate a willingness to enroll.WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Relevant Industry Experience (Required) Consideration may be given to candidates who do not meet all the above criteria if they can demonstrate a strong work ethic, passion for the plumbing trade, and a desire to learn.SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS
