Job Title: Long Haul Truck Driver

HARROOP TRUCKING LTD. is seeking a skilled and experienced Long Haul Truck Driver to join our team. As a key member of our transportation team, you will be responsible for safely transporting goods and materials across the country.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a reliable and detail-oriented individual to operate our trucks and ensure timely delivery of goods. The ideal candidate will have a valid Class 1 or A driver's license, Air Brake (Z) Endorsement, and excellent communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Drive as part of a two-person team or convoy
  • Load and unload goods
  • Obtain special permits and other documents required to transport cargo on international routes
  • Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials
  • Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment
  • Pay and receive payments for goods
  • Perform brake adjustments
  • Perform emergency roadside repairs
  • Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle
  • Perform preventive maintenance
  • Receive and relay information to central dispatch
  • Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption
  • Tarping and ensuring safety and security of cargo
Requirements:
  • Air Brake (Z) Endorsement
  • Driver's License (Class 1 or A)
  • Valid driver's licence
  • Willing to travel cross-border
  • Willing to travel for extended periods
  • Willing to travel internationally
  • Willing to travel overnight
Work Environment:

This is an on-the-road job that requires the ability to work independently and as part of a team. You will be required to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing circumstances.
