Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for safely operating a variety of trucks, including straight and articulated vehicles, to transport goods and materials across different routes. This role requires strong navigation skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Route Planning and Optimization: Plan and adjust routes to minimize fuel consumption and carbon emissions, using computer equipment and GPS technology.
  • Mountain Driving Expertise: Demonstrate expertise in driving in mountainous terrain, ensuring safe and efficient transportation of goods.
  • Customer Service: Provide professional and courteous service to customers, ensuring their needs are met and exceeded.
  • Logistics and Administration: Arrange travel itineraries, make reservations, and obtain necessary permits and documents for international routes.
  • Vehicle Maintenance: Regularly inspect and maintain vehicles, performing brake adjustments, emergency roadside repairs, and pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections.
  • Documentation and Record-Keeping: Maintain accurate records of cargo information, hours of service, distance traveled, and fuel consumption.
Requirements:
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a related field.
  • Language: English.
  • Work Conditions: Physically demanding, with a large workload and repetitive tasks.
  • Personal Suitability: Excellent written communication, organized, reliable, and a team player.
