We are seeking a skilled Investment Fund Accountant to become a vital member of our fund accounting division within our financial services sector in Montreal.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process transactions and accounting entries for a range of investment funds while preparing daily portfolios and cash reconciliations.
  • Compile Net Asset Value (NAV) files for a portfolio of investment funds with medium to high complexity.
  • Engage with investment managers, prime brokers, and custodians regarding trading activities as necessary for transaction processing and NAV compilation.
  • Maintain the client database and execute general administrative tasks related to client funds.
  • Support the invoicing process and collection of receivables, and collaborate with auditors to furnish required information and address audit inquiries.

Qualifications:

  • A university degree in accounting or finance.
  • A professional accounting designation (CA, CGA, CMA, or equivalent) is advantageous, along with 2-3 years of relevant experience in financial services with a reputable accounting firm or financial institution.
  • Experience in US Onshore and Offshore fund accounting/administration is a plus.
  • Essential skills for this position include a solid understanding of all Windows applications, familiarity with fund accounting software, and excellent time management, organizational, prioritization, and communication skills, both verbal and written (fluent in written and spoken English).
