The RoleWe're seeking a highly skilled Production Supervisor to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you'll be responsible for leading by example and ensuring a safe and productive work environment.
Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Supervising all manufacturing activities, including scheduling jobs and supervising production workers
- Ensuring a safe and productive work environment, adhering to all health and safety standards
- Working closely with the EHS team to maintain compliance with regulatory requirements
- Implementing and driving 5S methodology in each work cell
- Communicating effectively with team members and providing coaching and guidance as needed
- Monitoring team members on site during production activities to ensure compliance with standards and procedures
- Providing leadership and guidance to the team, holding team members accountable for their performance
- Ensuring completed products meet quality standards before moving to the next area
- Managing the production schedule and coordinating the processing of orders
- Ensuring operational quality and cost objectives are met while meeting on-time delivery schedules
- Implementing lean manufacturing techniques and assisting in efficient work cell creation and adherence
- Inventory and material management support, working directly with purchasing and receiving to ensure materials are advanced planned for jobs
- Ensuring all workers have proper safety gear and clothing before performing work
- Interviewing and assisting with selecting new hires
- Filling in on a job when an employee is absent
- On-shop-floor supervising 80% of the time
To be successful in this role, you'll need:
- 5+ years of manufacturing experience, with a minimum of 3 years of supervisory/management experience
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing and 5S methodology
- Excellent coaching and communication skills
- Demonstrated results meeting performance metrics
- Demonstrated ability to effectively set goals, lead, and motivate others
- Organized with a strong sense of urgency, attention to detail, and able to deal with complex issues in a fast-paced setting
- Ability to work in a flexible team environment with job rotation as needed
- Ability to work overtime as needed
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions with minimal supervision
- Computer knowledge, including Microsoft suite
