Job Summary

Metrolinx is seeking a Senior Project Financial Control Officer to manage and coordinate financial and budgetary controls, as well as reporting and accounting functions for capital infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct financial and contract analyses to support program strategy and project cost objectives.
  • Develop reports and presentations utilizing analytical findings to support planning and decision-making.
  • Identify, assess, and recommend solutions for financial issues impacting capital and operating projects.
  • Provide financial analysis and associated financial reporting to Corridor Directors and project teams.
  • Deliver financial analysis and advice to senior management and project teams regarding project payments and fiscal matters.
  • Lead periodic accounting processes to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records.
  • Implement a robust accounting control system to ensure consistency in payments and financial reporting.
  • Monitor and control capital and operating expenditures.
  • Use financial and administrative controls and procedures to support program objectives.
Requirements
  • Completion of a diploma or degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or Finance, or a related discipline.
  • Demonstrated years of progressive experience in finance and/or contract management.
  • Experience in a major projects construction, transportation, infrastructure, or transit environment is strongly preferred.
  • CPA or similar Accounting or related designation is an asset.
