Job Title: Diesel Mechanic Supervisor

Gaspésie Diesel Inc. is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Diesel Mechanic Supervisor to join our team.

Job Summary:

The Diesel Mechanic Supervisor will be responsible for supervising a team of diesel mechanics, ensuring the efficient and safe operation of our repair shop, and maintaining high-quality work standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and coordinate the work of diesel mechanics, ensuring timely completion of tasks and projects.
  • Develop and implement effective work schedules and procedures to maximize productivity and efficiency.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Train and mentor diesel mechanics to improve their skills and knowledge.
  • Coordinate and schedule activities, including maintenance and repairs, to ensure minimal downtime.
  • Recruit and hire diesel mechanics, as needed, and conduct performance evaluations.
  • Prepare and manage budgets, forecasts, and reports to ensure accurate financial tracking.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers, vendors, and other stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Requirements:
  • 3+ years of experience as a diesel mechanic or in a supervisory role.
  • Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Strong knowledge of diesel engines, mechanics, and repair techniques.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in a physically demanding environment.
