Job Title: Truck Driver

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Truck Driver to join our team at Peoples Trucking Ltd.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for transporting goods and materials safely and efficiently across various locations. This is a permanent position with a 40-hour workweek.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Load and unload goods safely and efficiently
  • Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials
  • Oversee the condition of the vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage, and other equipment
  • Perform emergency roadside repairs and pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections
  • Receive and relay information to central dispatch and record cargo information, hours of service, distance traveled, and fuel consumption
  • Tarping and ensuring the safety and security of cargo
Requirements:
  • Air Brake (Z) Endorsement
  • Driver's License (Class 1 or A)
  • Accident or incident reports, driver logbook, inspection report, maintenance and repair reports, and trip reports
  • Ability to handle heavy loads, physically demanding work, and sitting for extended periods
  • Up to 23 kg (50 lbs) weight handling
  • Judgement, organized, reliability, and team player
  • Experience an asset
Work Environment:
