POSITION SUMMARY
Graymont Limited is looking for a qualified Red Seal Industrial Electrician to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess experience with medium voltage systems, utilize various testing equipment, and demonstrate troubleshooting skills within an industrial manufacturing environment. Familiarity with Allen-Bradley PLCs and associated control systems is advantageous.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Conduct inspections, calibrations, tests, and measurements on instrumentation, including pressure and flow meters, electronic and pneumatic controllers, level indicators, pressure and temperature transmitters, switches, gauges, and recorders.
- Install, diagnose, and repair control panels and components, motor circuits, as well as building and lighting circuits.
- Interpret technical manuals, schematics, drawings, and standard operating procedures to perform tasks effectively.
- Exhibit a solid understanding of electrical schematics, troubleshooting, and repair, supported by a minimum of 3 years of experience in an industrial setting.
- Collaborate with various departments across the organization.
- Possess troubleshooting expertise in areas such as motor and power control circuits, PLC diagnostics, analog and digital DC drive systems, AC drive systems, and process control systems.
- Execute preventative maintenance on electrical and electronic systems within production equipment and the facility.
- Provide electrical and electronic guidance to management and staff as required.
- Gather operational data to support reliability enhancements.
- Availability to work extended hours, including emergency situations, is essential.
- Efficiently assess malfunctioning equipment, identify issues, and develop safe repair strategies to restore production promptly.
- Adhere to safety protocols, housekeeping standards, and clean-up procedures for all tasks.
- Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor.
- Maintain a safe working environment by following all relevant safety regulations and procedures.
QUALIFICATIONS :
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a licensed industrial electrician.
- Required experience in an industrial manufacturing context.
- Proficient understanding of schematic diagrams and equipment drawings.
- Methodical troubleshooting approach with strong analytical capabilities.
- Comprehensive knowledge of high and low voltage electrical systems, breakers, power distribution, motors, motor control equipment, instrumentation, PLCs, and AC/DC drive systems.
- Experience with programming and working with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) is a plus.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook); familiarity with JD Edwards System is an asset.
- A valid driver's license is required.
