Position OverviewIn this role, you will utilize your expertise in a unionized setting to assist with our employee relations initiatives and contribute to informed decision-making. Your adaptability to dynamic environments will be key, as you employ your strong problem-solving and communication skills to provide optimal support. We look forward to your positive outlook and eagerness to learn in the Labour Relations and Human Resources Advisor position.
This position entails the planning, execution, and coordination of employee and labour-related functions and initiatives in alignment with departmental objectives.
- Assist the Employee Relations and Labour Relations team with matters related to labour and employee relations, including collective agreement interpretation, and provide guidance to leaders on employment standards and applicable regulations.
- Support grievance resolution, arbitration, and preparation for collective bargaining.
- Engage in investigations and dispute resolution processes.
- Maintain a database for labour relations and assist with research activities.
- Provide administrative support, which may include updating employee records and processing invoices.
- A degree or diploma in Human Resources or Business Administration, along with a minimum of two (2) years of experience as an HR/LR Generalist in a unionized environment.
- Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced team setting.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills for effective engagement with stakeholders and employees.
- Strong interpersonal, problem-solving, conflict-resolution, organizational, and planning abilities.
- A desire to grow into an HR Business Partner role.
This position offers the option to participate in a flexible work program, allowing you to work from an approved location in British Columbia for up to 85 days a year, subject to operational needs.
