Job Summary

SEGULA Technologies is seeking a highly skilled Development and Validation Engineer - Transmissions & Driveline to join our team in Windsor, ON. As a key member of our engineering group, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and validating components and systems in Transmission, Driveline & Gear Reducer.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop transmission and driveline components and systems, ensuring robustness and performance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including transmission, driveline, and gear reducer Product Release Center, Controls, Calibration, Thermal Management, Engine & E-Motor engineering organizations.
  • Develop system-level Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMEA) and define system requirements.
  • Execute Design Verification and Validation (DVPR) and Test Management to achieve functional objectives and durability goals.
  • Participate in post-test reviews, including failure analysis.
  • Support assembly plant activities for smooth product launches.
  • Lead triage investigations to identify root causes of development problems.
  • Ensure the robustness of function, performance, efficiency, and driveability of the product.
  • Support field warranty and quality investigations.
  • Lead root cause analysis efforts.
  • Contribute to the identification and validation of optimal solutions.

Requirements

  • Mechanical, Aero, Electrical or equivalent Engineering Degree.
  • At least 3-5 years of engineering experience in Automatic Transmission/Driveline/Electrified Powertrain hardware, calibration or controls development.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, as well as experience with basic PC software (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project).
  • Highly motivated, self-directed, with the ability to manage multiple complex projects, and a positive attitude.
  • Specific experience with software, calibration, efficiency, and/or thermal management is desired.
  • An understanding of transmission & driveline operation and the interaction between gears, clutches, and electrohydraulic components is desired.
  • Experience with transmission & driveline testing procedures, in-vehicle or on dynamometer, and other related considerations are also highly valued.

Additional Information

This position requires frequent travel to the USA; candidates must hold Canadian citizenship or have the ability to work in the USA.
