Key Responsibilities
  • Food Preparation and Service
    • Prepare and cook a variety of dishes, including soups, salads, and entrees, to the highest standards of quality and presentation.
    • Portion and serve food to customers in a timely and efficient manner.
    • Restock food and supplies as needed to maintain a clean and organized kitchen.
  • Cleaning and Sanitation
    • Ensure that all kitchen equipment, utensils, and work surfaces are clean and sanitized at all times.
    • Maintain a clean and organized kitchen, including sweeping, mopping, and polishing floors.
    • Dispose of trash and recyclables in a responsible and environmentally friendly manner.
  • Inventory and Supply Management
    • Receive and store supplies, including food, cleaning products, and equipment.
    • Count and record inventory levels to ensure accurate stock levels.
    • Order supplies as needed to maintain adequate stock levels.
  • Teamwork and Communication
    • Work effectively with kitchen staff to ensure seamless service and high-quality food.
    • Communicate clearly and respectfully with colleagues, management, and customers.
    • Participate in team meetings and contribute to the development of new ideas and initiatives.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience
    • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
    • 1 to less than 7 months of experience in a kitchen or food service environment.
  • Skills and Abilities
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask effectively.
    • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
    • Ability to lift heavy loads and stand for extended periods.
    • Attention to detail and ability to maintain high standards of quality and safety.
Working Conditions

The Curry Pot is a fast-paced and physically demanding work environment. As a Kitchen Assistant, you will be required to stand for extended periods, lift heavy loads, and work in a hot and humid kitchen. You will also be required to work overtime as needed to ensure the smooth operation of the kitchen.
