OverviewThe Process Supervisor plays a crucial role in overseeing, coordinating, and auditing production line operations to ensure compliance with established standards related to quality, cost, productivity, safety, sanitation, and employee proficiency. This position is essential for providing insights and follow-up on overall product conditions, addressing specifications, equipment issues, packaging supply challenges, and production schedules to optimize efficiency.
Key Responsibilities- Manage overall shift production through subordinate supervisors and leads.
- Collaborate effectively with scheduling teams to optimize raw product utilization.
- Partner with Quality Assurance to ensure that the final product meets quality benchmarks and customer requirements.
- Work closely with sanitation teams to uphold plant cleanliness and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
- Coordinate with maintenance personnel to ensure equipment operates efficiently and foster teamwork.
- Promote and reinforce safe work practices among employees, ensuring adherence to safety policies and procedures.
- Execute supervisory duties in alignment with organizational policies and legal requirements.
- Assist in audit preparation, execution, and follow-up.
- Propose strategies for enhancing employee productivity.
- Oversee staffing and development initiatives for team members on respective shifts.
- Collaborate with other supervisors and management to meet production targets and key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Ensure compliance with HACCP guidelines throughout the production process, including accurate documentation.
- Manage employee performance evaluations, coaching, and disciplinary actions as necessary.
- Encourage a culture of continuous improvement through Lean Sigma principles and MDI initiatives.
- Perform miscellaneous related duties as assigned, including conducting product test runs and accident investigations.
- Minimum of five years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing setting.
- Preferred degree/diploma in a relevant field such as Agriculture, Engineering, Business, or Food Science.
- Combination of experience and educational qualifications may be considered.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
- Demonstrated leadership, reasoning, and judgment skills for effective planning and execution.
- Regularly required to walk, talk, and hear; occasionally required to use hands for handling objects and controls.
- Must be able to lift and move up to 10 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, and depth perception.
- Regular exposure to moving mechanical parts and wet or humid conditions.
- Frequent exposure to fumes, airborne particles, and toxic or caustic chemicals.
- Occasional exposure to extreme temperatures and high noise levels.
