At Matthew Gibson, Barrister & Solicitor, we're seeking a motivated Junior Associate Lawyer to join our dynamic team in Hamilton, Ontario.

With a focus on real estate, mortgage enforcement, and wills and estates, we're dedicated to providing exceptional service to our clients.

The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of residential real estate transactions and be eager to take on a variety of responsibilities.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing real estate closings and transactions, ensuring compliance with all legal requirements.
  • Handling private mortgages and assisting with mortgage enforcement litigation.
  • Collaborating with our founding lawyer and support staff to deliver high-quality legal services.
  • Staying updated on relevant laws and regulations in real estate and mortgage enforcement.

Requirements include:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Called to the Ontario Bar and licensed to practice in Ontario.
  • 2-4 years of experience in real estate law, with a focus on residential transactions and/or mortgage enforcement, or related fields.
  • Flexible hybrid work options to support work-life balance.
