About the Role

We are seeking a motivated and experienced Junior Associate Lawyer to join our team at Matthew Gibson, Barrister & Solicitor. As a key member of our real estate and mortgage enforcement practice group, you will be responsible for managing real estate closings and transactions, handling private mortgages, and providing support in wills and estates.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage real estate closings and transactions, ensuring compliance with all legal requirements.
  • Handle private mortgages and assist with mortgage enforcement litigation.
  • Provide support in wills and estates, including drafting documents and advising clients.
  • Collaborate with our founding lawyer and support staff to deliver high-quality legal services.
  • Participate in client meetings and provide exceptional client service.
  • Stay updated on relevant laws and regulations in real estate and mortgage enforcement.
Qualifications
  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Called to the Ontario Bar and licensed to practice in Ontario.
  • 2-4 years of experience in real estate law, with a focus on residential transactions and/or mortgage enforcement, or related fields.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Commitment to professional development and growth within the firm.
