The Pharmacy Technician functions in alignment with the competency standards and practice guidelines set forth by the College of Pharmacists of British Columbia, adhering to the policies, procedures, and specific protocols of the organization.

This role involves processing medication orders that have been clinically assessed for therapeutic suitability and sanctioned by a Pharmacist. You will receive both verbal and written prescriptions from healthcare providers, ensuring their completeness and authenticity. Responsibilities include preparing, processing, and compounding prescriptions.

It is essential to verify the accuracy and thoroughness of dispensed prescriptions prepared by yourself or colleagues by checking order entries and conducting final checks on dispensed medications.

You will also manage prescriptions for temporary inpatient leaves and facilitate the transfer of prescriptions to and from other pharmacies. Accurately entering and maintaining drug and personal health information in the Pharmacy information system is crucial. Additionally, you will maintain inventory levels and perform assigned clerical tasks.

Updated Compensation :
The new wage is: $34.18/hour

Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 07:30 to 15:30, 08:00 to 16:00

Required Qualifications

  • Completion of Grade 12 and graduation from an accredited Pharmacy Technician program or a comparable combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Current registration as a Pharmacy Technician with the College of Pharmacists of British Columbia.
