Emil Anderson Maintenance Co. Ltd (EAM) serves as the designated contractor for road and bridge upkeep under the Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure across various service areas.

Our operations encompass a comprehensive range of highway and bridge maintenance tasks, including but not limited to, vegetation management, drainage solutions, signage repairs, pavement restoration, concrete and timber bridge maintenance, gravel grading, anti-icing measures, snow removal, and emergency response services. The EAM team is committed to ensuring safe travel conditions for the public through diligent work and adherence to standards.

We are currently in search of a Road Superintendent to oversee our operations. Position Overview:

The Road Superintendent is responsible for planning, scheduling, and supervising highway maintenance activities in compliance with contractual obligations and quality management protocols.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate in alignment with Emil Anderson Group (EAG) Core Values in all work-related activities.
  • Maintain a strong commitment to fostering a zero-injury culture and achieving safety goals.
  • Plan, schedule, and supervise highway maintenance operations using available resources efficiently.
  • Estimate, schedule, and oversee additional projects assigned by the Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure.
  • Coordinate complex work assignments and annual inspection schedules.
  • Supervise maintenance crews and manage performance effectively.
  • Ensure adherence to safety regulations and quality standards.
  • Maintain accurate records of work completed, including manpower and material usage.
  • Facilitate relevant training programs for team members.
  • Address public and stakeholder inquiries and implement corrective measures as needed.
  • Respond to traffic emergencies and road closures as required.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives aligned with quality objectives.
  • Assist management in conducting annual road and infrastructure assessments.
  • Ensure proper maintenance of equipment to extend its operational lifespan.

  • Collaborate with the Operations Management Team for support during emergencies.
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in the construction sector.
  • At least 3 years in a managerial role.
  • 2 years of experience in a unionized setting.
  • Local candidates or those willing to relocate are preferred.
  • Experience with Ministry of Transportation highway maintenance is advantageous.
  • Engineering or management degree is a plus.
  • Possession of a Class 3 license with Air Brakes endorsement.
