What is the Opportunity?

As a Senior Network Security Analyst at Royal Bank of Canada, you will play a critical role in ensuring the security and integrity of our global network infrastructure. Your primary responsibilities will include providing subject matter expertise for the management of Global Firewall rules, including risk assessment and accreditation, as well as implementing and supporting Business to Business VPNs between RBC and third-party vendors. You will work closely with business partners, escalation teams, and vendors to resolve incidents and deliver infrastructure changes across the global RBC Enterprise.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement firewall rule attestation and accreditation processes globally.
  • Conduct risk assessments of firewall rules across multiple firewall platforms.
  • Collaborate with DevOps/Automation teams to identify opportunities for process optimization and automation.
  • Develop and maintain process documentation and activity records.
  • Participate in meetings and training sessions to stay up-to-date on new technologies and service deployments.
  • Develop, code, document, and execute programs of low to intermediate complexity.
  • Contribute to high-level and detailed technical specifications for medium to large projects.
  • Identify and develop mitigation strategies for potential risks.

Requirements:

  • Certification in at least one firewall platform and intermediate experience with network and security appliances/vendors.
  • Strong understanding of IP internetworking and security exposures and mitigating designs.
  • Excellent understanding of the OSI model and protocols such as DNS, DHCP, HTTP, FTP, Telnet, SSH, and TCP/IP.
  • University or College Degree in Computer Science or a related field or equivalent 3+ years of experience as a Network Security Analyst.
  • Certifications like CCNP DC, CISSP.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Working knowledge of Cloud Platforms (AWS, GCP, and Azure).
  • Working knowledge of modern technologies (e.g., APIs, DevOps).
  • CISA, CRISC, CCSP certifications.
