As a Licensed Practical Nurse with Interior Health Authority, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care in our dynamic and fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct thorough assessments and develop personalized care plans for patients, collaborating with the multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive care.
• Under the supervision of a physician or nurse practitioner, provide orthopaedic care, including assessing patient condition, reviewing x-rays, and performing duties such as applying casts and splints, removing externally exposed pins and wires, and setting up traction equipment.
• Operate within the scope of practice as outlined by the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives, adhering to organizational policies, procedures, and unit-specific protocols.
We are currently seeking permanent part-time LPNs to join our team. Shifts will be scheduled days and nights, rotating from 07:30 to 19:45 and 19:30 to 07:45 hours.
About this location/unit:
Our Emergency department at Royal Inland Hospital is a tertiary referral hospital with 18 beds, 2 trauma bays, and a clinical decision area. We treat 75,000 patients per year, and our nursing staff work 12-hour shifts. We see a broad spectrum of patients in age and acuity, with a high volume of trauma cases due to our geographical location and outdoor activities. Our High Acuity Response Team works closely with BC Ambulance Services to transport patients from lower acuity sites to our hospital.
