Radiological Technologist, Screening Mammography/General Procedures

As a Radiological Technologist with Fraser Health, you will perform routine screening mammography, diagnostic radiography, and other medical imaging procedures while observing safe radiation protection procedures and maintaining patient care and safety.
Key Responsibilities:- Conduct routine screening mammography, diagnostic radiography, and other medical imaging procedures
- Ensure safe radiation protection procedures and maintain patient care and safety
- Receive and complete requisitions, entering relevant data into the Radiology Information System (RIS)
- Prepare examination trays and patients for specific procedures
- Operate computerized imaging equipment, process, and archive acquired data
- Monitor patients during procedures and equipment performance
- Maintain cleanliness of examination rooms
- Perform general duty radiographic/fluoroscopic and screening mammography procedures
- Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, and other healthcare professionals
- Adhere to departmental standards, routines, and radiation protection practices during procedures
- Complete procedures using appropriate equipment and maintain records in RIS/PACS
- Refer problems in image quality to the supervisor
- Store digital images using appropriate equipment
- Prepare program participants for screening mammography by explaining procedure and giving directions
- Assist program participants with completion of questionnaire
- Promote education in the area of breast cancer and risk factors
- Certification with the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT)
- Successful completion of CAMRT Mammography 1 or equivalent
- One year's recent, related experience in Mammography procedures and general radiographic procedures
- Demonstrated knowledge of the standards of practice and guidelines for Medical Imaging practitioners
- Demonstrated knowledge and practice of safe work procedures with diagnostic radiographic and medical imaging equipment
- Demonstrated ability to perform radiographic and screening mammography examinations in compliance with departmental standards
