Job Title: Radiological Technologist About the Role: We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Radiological Technologist to join our team at Abbotsford Regional Hospital and Cancer Centre. As a key member of our Medical Imaging department, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality diagnostic imaging services to our patients. Job Summary: The Radiological Technologist will be responsible for performing diagnostic radiographic and fluoroscopic procedures, as well as related duties, in accordance with established standards and protocols. You will work closely with radiologists, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure the highest level of patient care. Responsibilities: • Perform diagnostic radiographic and fluoroscopic procedures, observing safe radiation protection practices and departmental standards • Prepare patients for examination, operating radiographic and computerized imaging equipment, and monitoring patient care and safety • Complete procedures using appropriate equipment, labels permanent records, and maintains and updates records in RIS/PACS • Explain procedures and give instructions to patients/clients, and answer questions that may arise • Ensure relevant clinical data is collected for the procedures requested, and maintains and updates records in database accordingly • Prepare contrast agents required for examinations, and prepares tray set-up for procedures • Monitor patient care and safety, and provides input into quality improvement and risk management procedures and processes • Participate in the instruction of employees and/or students, and participates in approved research and special projects • Participate in the departmental Continuous Quality Improvement/LEAN programs, and carries out responsibilities in accordance with health and safety requirements Qualifications: • Certification with the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT) • Demonstrated knowledge and practice of safe work procedures with diagnostic radiographic and medical imaging equipment • Demonstrated ability to perform radiographic examinations in compliance with departmental standards • Demonstrated knowledge of evidence-based practice related to designated modality • Demonstrated knowledge of organization policies, procedures, and standards of care, including practice of safe work procedures with modality equipment • Demonstrated ability to communicate (orally and in writing) and deal effectively with clients and their families, co-workers, physicians, and other healthcare staff About Fraser Health: Fraser Health is a leading healthcare provider in British Columbia, Canada, serving over 2 million people in Metro Vancouver and the Fraser Valley.
